The Christmas Party Style Guide December 17 2015
Ok… Where did the rest of the year go? It was just June a second ago. Now all of a sudden, people are starting to discuss New Year’s like it’s right around the corner – but that’s because it is.
Well, you know what that means – time to start planning for all of the Christmas parties! It’s always good to get these things organised well ahead of time, but who really has the organisational skills for that sort of pre-planning? That said, thanks to online shopping, getting outfits sorted for your festive season is now so much easier. As a guide, we wanted to have a look at some of the fashion tips for this year to help out with your shopping and outfit planning. If you have multiple parties and functions to attend, you’re going to need multiple outfits - so it really does help to plan ahead so you can cross-pollinate your outfits as much as possible.
Let’s have a look at some of these festive fashion tips, inspired by the fabulous Carrie Bradshaw!
Capsule wardrobe your way through the festive season
There is nothing better than looking in your wardrobe and knowing that you’re going to be able to seamlessly mix and match multiple combinations of clothing to create something new and sexy with minimal effort. Of course, in order to get your wardrobe to that type of perfection, it takes a bit of planning. When you’re shopping online or in-store, it helps to do a bit of a sweep of your current wardrobe and to work out whether you have enough staple items (blazers, jackets, basic tops etc) to pull everything together. Once you have the staple basics covered, it’s just a matter of investing in a high-quality seasonal staple and dressing it up/mixing and matching with your basics, i.e. a light denim jacket or a blazer, and adding splash of colour from a cute top or some shoes.
Jewels are key
Nothing screams polish and style faster than a delicate but stunning necklace with a pendant, or a statement ring or bracelet. You can add a whole different dimension to an outfit with just a couple of key pieces of beautiful jewellery. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune, and it can be just the thing to pull your outfit together.
If you’re coveting an incredible new trend and worried about pulling it off - just go for it. Christmas time is a time to dress up and enjoy yourself, especially now more than any other time of the year, so what’s the harm in trying something fun and new? Chances are, you’ll look incredible and be the envy of everyone else there in their LBDs.
Don’t forget to hydrate
As a beauty and style tip, nothing beats water. When you’re out hitting the party circuit non-stop, there can be times when your skin and body needs water. Be sure to stay hydrated and you’ll have the staying power to party all season long.
And don't forget to have fun.
Cheers xx EE
