PICKING PERFECT POSIES; 3 steps to choosing the perfect blooms for your wedding day February 16 2016
Weddings are overwhelming full stop. There are so just many questions and decisions to make…one of the most difficult and confusing being flowers for the the bride and her maids.
Step 1: Suss out what is in season at the time of year you are tying the knot. You need to make sure whatever type of flowers you choose is going to be upright, alive and in all their glory as you and your bridal party walk down the aisle. You will also save yourself a fortune by selecting in season blooms.
Step 2: In the madness of choosing flowers remember to keep in mind what you and your bridesmaids are wearing. It is all well and good to have amazing flowers but your want them to match the style of the wedding, the brides and bridesmaids dresses.
You can either choose a colour similar to the dresses or you can choose and complementing contrast. E.g navy dresses can look fabulous with an orange posy.
If your wedding style is classic then stick to classic roses and tones. If you vibe is more modern, opt for a minimal, modern posy. A single orchid can look really elegant. If the dresses are fun and feminine you could go for a vibrant fun posy.
Decide on florist. Meet with the florist first to make sure you are all on the same page. There is no better way to describe something than with photos so make sure you take your fave flower pics. Discuss in detail the best options and be open to their suggestions as they are the expert and will be able to guide you.
