Best Wedding Readings - Choosing the Right Words March 01 2016

Once you have your wedding planning underway it is time to start thinking of the finer details. The readings at your wedding will help set the tone for the day and should reflect the thoughts and feelings of you and your partner. We have curated our favourite readings to help narrow your search.

1.  All I Ever Really Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarten
     By Robert Fulgham

All of what I really need to know about how to live, and what to do, and how to be, I learned in Kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sandbox at nursery school.
These are the things I learned…
Share everything.
Play fair.
Don't hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don't take things that aren't yours.
Say sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. Give them to someone who feels sad.
Live a balanced life.
Learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day.
Take a nap every afternoon.
Be aware of wonder.
Remember the little seed in the plastic cup? The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.
Everything you need to know is in there somewhere.
And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.

2. Dr Suess quotes

Dr Suess is a popular choice for wedding readings. He sums it up so well with so few words so is a great option if you want to keep your wedding ceremony to a tight time frame.

3. The Art of a Good Marriage

    By Wilferd Arlan Peterson

A good marriage must be created.
In marriage the “little” things are the big things.
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say, ”I love you” at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is having a mutual sense of values, and common objectives.
It is standing together and facing the world.
It is forming a circle that gathers in the whole family.
It is speaking words of appreciation, and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is not only marrying the right person — it is being the right partner.

4. A.A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh

Winnie the Pooh quote are always are crowd favourite and it is easy to why. Here are a few that we love....
"As soon as I saw you I knew a grand adventure was about to happen."
"Any day spent with you is my favourite day. So, today is my new favourite day."
If you live to be 100, I hope that I live to be 100 minus 1 day, so i never have to live with out you"
